We’re bringing back our traditional Story Writing Contest!
To honor an all time classic story intro phrase, we invite you to tell us a fantastic tale in 500 words or less, beginning with the phrase:
"It was a dark and stormy night..."
Each story we receive will be read by a panel of judges who will pick their three favorite fables to be presented at a public reading in the pub on Saturday, March 11 at 7:00pm. From there, our audience will vote on the stories and award them first, second and third prize.
Contest Submissions: Send your story to stormy@stormcloudbrewing.com, or drop it off at the pub during business hours. All story submissions are due by Monday, February 27.
Each submission must include the entrant's name, email address, telephone number, and age. Only one submission of 500 words or less is allowed per person. There is no fee to enter the writing contest. Authors are encouraged to attend the public reading, but do not need to be present to win.
Eat, Drink, Be Merry!: From 6-8pm, 50% of all proceeds will be donated to the Benzie Shores District Library.
Contest Prizes:
• 1st Place Prizes: 2023 Cloudspotter Membership, $75 Stormcloud gift card, 64oz growler & fill, story published in Betsie Current online.
• 2nd Place Prizes: $50 Stormcloud gift card, 64oz growler & fill.
